FORMAT OF PAPERS AND POSTERS Whatever editor you use, the paper must be packaged as a single, self-contained Postscript or PDF file, suitable for printing on US-standard letter-size paper (216 × 279mm). Please make sure that any bitmapped fonts or text (including graphs, equations, TeX/LaTeX documents, etc.) have 600 dpi or better resolution. All images and illustrations included in the file should be in black-and-white, or in gray tones. The image resolution on paper should be about 600 dpi for black-and-white images, and 150-200 dpi for grayscale images. Do not include images with excessive resolution, as they may take hours to print, without any visible difference in the result. When sending the final version of your paper, you may separately send a
full-color, full-resolution version of any illustration included in the text, in
TIFF, GIF, JPEG, EPS, or PPM format. If resources permit, the color version may be
printed in the Proceedings, in addition to the gray version. These color images may
be printed on the back cover, or in a special section - at the sole discretion of the
Proceeding's editors.
The layout and typographical style of the paper must follow the SIBGRAPI standard. See the Postscript sample attached. The following details are essential: We emphasise the paper size item, since many of the Postscript files submitted for evaluation were generated for printing on "A4" paper. Such documents come out with incorrect margins when printed on "letter" paper. We emphasize also that the final version, unlike the submitted one, should not include any page footers or page numbers, since these will be added by the publisher. Whenever the font Times is specified, equivalent fonts such as Times Roman or New
Times Roman can be used instead. You are strongly advised to use LaTeX to typeset your paper or extended abstract, especially if it includes mathematical formulas. Please use the SIBGRAPI LaTeX paper style, and this paper example in LaTeX 2e. You may of course define your own commands, but please do not modify or subvert the layout parameters defined in the above style file. If you would rather use Microsoft WordTM, fetch the paper example in Word 6.0, and edit it taking care to preserve the layout and dimensions. If you would rather use another editor, it is your job to adjust the document's format according to the restrictions listed above. |
