SBIA is the leading conference in Brazil for presentation of research and applications in Artificial Intelligence. It aims to promote research of international level in AI and scientific exchange among AI researchers, practitioners, scientists, and engineers in related disciplines, congregated in Brazil.  SBIA 2012 especially encourages submissions that cross discipline boundaries within Artificial Intelligence, and between Artificial Intelligence and other disciplines.

Since 1995, SBIA has become an international conference, with papers written in English, international program committee and keynote
speakers, and proceedings published in the LNAI series of Springer-Verlag.
