PePe é um galguinho muito especial. Ele se destacou pela sua estrutura, temperamento e movimentação desde que começou a caminhar. Desde filhote ele apresentou sua silueta perfeita, cabeça correta, um posterior fortíssimo com a angulação esperada de um galgo. Clique aqui para fotos aos 3 e 6 meses.

PePe is a truly special Italian Greyhound. Since he was a puppy, he had a beautiful conformation and very good temperament, with a particular "look-at-me" attitude. He is a blue-Irish dog, born on June 14, by NiNi and Baldo. His main qualities are a beautiful head, beautiful outline, powerful movement, with reach, drive and lift, and a very strong yet very well angulated rear. Tendo honestamente mais branco que o permitido no padrão FCI, decidimos quando ele era filhote que não ficaríamos com ele. Por outro lado, pelas suas qualidades não poderíamos vendê-lo como pet. Fizemos contatos e ficou definido que ele iria para um criador americano. Entretanto o destino entrou na história e PePe acabou ficando conosco. PePe é um cão doce e fiel, super ligado aos donos, extremamente sensível e carinhoso, assim podemos dizer que é uma grande satisfação que o destino nos tenha ajudado a ficar com ele.

As he honestly has more white than the FCI standard accepts, we decided we wouldn't keep him. But (did you see the puppy pictures in the link above?) we also decided such a beautiful boy couldn't be sold to a pet home. Then we contacted an American friend, and all was settled that PePe would go to be shown in the U.S. Nevertheless, destiny didn't want that, and PePe eventually stayed with us. We feel very fortunate to have the company of such a gorgeous IG that is also the sweetest dog you can think of.

Pelas suas inegáveis qualidades, aliado ao fato de que ao se tornar o 6o filho campeão o Baldo se tornou Top Producer, decidimos levar o PePe às pistas para fechar seu campeonato. Apesar de ter sido exposto de forma limitada, PePe venceu 4 grupos e terminou o ano de 2005 como o Italian Greyhound #1 do Brasil em todos os rankings, além de Melhor Cão do Grupo X do Paraná, também em 2005.

Destiny was to play another role. Although we did not "plan in advance" to make Baldo a Top Producer, when we noticed he already had 5 Champion sons and daughters. With one more, bingo! Then we looked at our PePe and thought that judges would certainly see his great qualities, despite his white markings. So we decided to show him. Well, the rest is history: PePe was a big success, he finished with 4 Group Firsts, and in the end was #1 IG Brazil all systems in 2005. He was also #1 sighthound in our state. Please note that #1 IG in Japan in 2005 (same year PePe was #1 in Brazil) was also an Irish colored dog, that's Jap. Am. Can. Int. Ch. Everafter's All That Glitters.

We do have our opinion about IG color. Basically for decades many breeders in Europe have selected based on solid (very solid) dogs. It is important to protect these dogs, their color, the work of these breeders. But it is undeniable from old pictures that parti-colored IGs have always been there and we feel that the FCI could accept a second variety of IG (exactly like it does with Poodles, for instance), so that the wonderful parti-colored IGs could also be shown worldwide.
